Hapenny Gin is a small batch pot distilled using an infusion of 13 unique botanicals inspired by the Victorian Walled Garden of the Phoenix Park, Dublin. The Gin takes its name from the famous bridge built in May 1816 over the River Liffey in Dublin.
We developed the whole brand around this history, tradition and legacy that has become synonymous with the Hapenny Bridge and Dublin. To do this we created our own typeface for the Hapenny logo that would convey the right aesthetic. We put wavy lines in the background of the text to represent the water of the river and we arched the word 'Hapenny' to represent the bridge crossing the river. The colours on the whole label are taken from the official colours of Dublin. The graphic detail elements used on the label are taken from shapes and patterns on the bridge itself. Elements like the heart with the keyhole in the centre of it were added to represent the locks that lovers sign and hang from the bridge.
